Radical Candor

Currently my little consulting company has the largest fundraising contract I have ever signed my name to since retiring from the Huntsville Museum of Art. For the next few months I have stepped into an interim position at the Huntsville Botanical Garden as the VP of Advancement.

Throughout my fundraising career I had many occasions to wonder what it takes to be a good boss. More than leadership skills, more than knowledge of the craft or the company, I never found the way to deliver just the right combination of compassion and challenge.

Taking on a new position brought me face to face again with the same dilemma: What does it take to become a good boss?

Then I found this: Radical Candor The Surprising Secret to Being a Good Boss by Kim Scott. Questions answered. Makes sense. Worth reading. Even worth bookmarking and returning to again and again.
